What is climate change like for reindeers?
Can a turkey melt?
And why is arctic science better than any beach vacation?
Those are only a few questions adressed in the science comics "Frozen Ground Cartoons".
Michael Fritz from AWI in Potsdam opened the exhibition for the German Permafrost Comics on 12 December in the Potsdam Science Forum. Michael was leading the German version under the title "Es taut!" which means "It thaws!" of the original Frozen-Ground Cartoons (https://frozengroundcartoon.com/). For his engagement he has won the Potsdam Price for Science Communication 2019. The comics are an international cooperation between artist as well as permafrost scientists from Nunataryuk. The exhibition will be displayed until the end of January. Free admission!
